Encoding

📄️ Understanding Encoding Providers in VIDIZMO

The primary reason for encoding is to ensure universal playback across all devices, players and browsers. For instance, a video uploaded in MP4 format is transcoded to HLS for playback on iOS devices. On the other hand, transcoding also solves bandwidth congestion and video quality issues. If a 720p video is ingested, a transcoder will derive its multiple renditions such as 480p, 360p, and 240p. These renditions will be delivered to the end user as per their local bandwidth allowance overcoming network congestion.

📄️ How to View and Edit Configured AWS Elemental MediaConvert Encoder

The Encoder converts media files into multiple formats and renditions for enabling the user to play it on multiple devices/platforms. AWS Elemental MediaConvert is a file-based video processing service that allows video providers with any size content library to easily and reliably transcode on-demand content for broadcast and multiscreen delivery. VIDIZMO offers its users to view and update configuration settings of pre-configured Encoding Providers due to evolving business requirements.

📄️ How to enable AMS Machine Generated Transcriptions in VIDIZMO

VIDIZMO renders automatic transcriptions for audio and video files if the encoding profile has been set up in the Portal to allow it. During playback, a searchable transcript plays alongside the video enabling users to search within the transcript to locate those points in the video where the searched term was used. Moreover, by selecting on the transcript text, viewers can also jump directly to that specific part of the video. Through transcriptions, viewers can develop a better understanding of the content and context of the video.
